TO CIRCUMSCRIBE THE COMMUNITY MASJID

“Together We Are A Masjid” – Popularly known as the Community Masjid. By The Grace of Almighty Allah SWT, the wider Muslim Ummah prevails with the name of this Mosque. Respected Brothers and Sisters originating from almost All Muslim Countries are at the Heart of this Masjid. This Masjid is also branded as ‘Masjidul Ummah’.

On Friday 28th April 2023, WE, few Brothers took the initiative to start the ‘Masjid’ process through organizing Jummah Prayers at a rented premise, previously used to be a Church building in Barmulloch area. Indeed, few years back the building was made open to the community groups as a Community Centre. Barmulloch Community Development Company (BCDC) is in the ownership of this building. The company is quite sympathetic to our Masjid operations.

We were fortunate to quickly find two learned Imams – both are Qurani Hafez. By Allah’s Rehma, we had First Jummah on 05 May 2023 at the Large Hall of this building with over 100 Musallis / attendees. In this way we continued for four Jummahs with incremental progress of Musalli development. With natural urge, we also hired the Large Room for Sisters/Women to join Jummah. We had encouraging response from the Sisters as well.

In this way, the time for Eid-Ul Adha was approaching. We organized Eid Congregation which received overwhelming attraction and response. Grateful thanks to Almighty Allah SWT, over 200 Brothers and Sisters attended the Eid Prayer on 28 June 2023.

Just after this Eid occasion, we started 5-time Prayers at the Large Room with provision for accommodating 10/15 Sisters. Indeed, we hired this Large Room on a monthly lease (rental) basis from BCDC.

In response to Musalli Brothers and Sisters’ demand, from 28th October 2023 we introduced Islamiat Arabic Classes for the Children of ages 4.5-12 years on Sundays. Four Female Teachers are engaged for Arabic Lessons to children, currently 36 by registration.

In March/April 2024, Community Masjid undertook special program to embrace the Holy Month of Ramadan. Iftar+Meals was offered every evening averaging to serve 80-100 Musallis..After a Happy Khatamul Quran Tarawih – led by Two Learned Hafez – together we had big Eid Jama’at Al-Hamdulillah.

Followed by Ramadan, Community Masjid’s Women’s Forum was launched and first Get-Together with 60 Sisters was organized on 28 April 2024, followed by the Second on 25 May 2024 with over 70 Sisters. Of course, it was so challenging, and all Sisters TOGETHER made these a success. Onward then, Community Masjid Women’s Forum’s Get-Together inclusive of Talk Session is being held on last Saturday of Every Month.

On 16 June 2024 Community Masjid organized Eid-Ul Adha Prayer Congregation, attended by 180 Brothers and 90 Sisters.

Remarkably at Community Masjid, Islamic Mahfil with Egypt-Born Shaikh Shadi Khamis Ali Mustafa was held on Sunday 27 October 2024, attended by over 200 Brothers and Sisters.

Precisely, Community Masjid operates at the current BCDC premises on Rental basis. The Masjid Activities include – Friday Jummah & 5-time Prayers, Children’s Arabic Lessons on Sundays, Plus Women Forum’s Get-Together inclusive of Talk Session on one Saturday Every Month.
